BtK is not only my nickname…

…it’s also the name of a german transport company. I saw one of these trucks several times but I never had a camera handy. This time an informant sent me this picture:

thanks to THINK for the picture.

BTK is your nickname??? What does it stand for in German?

In the US there is only one mental association with BTK: Bind – Torture – Kill, the initials the mass murder Dennis Rader gave himself.

You can read up at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Rader

If you are ever dealing with people from the US I would recommend not mentioning your nickname, however cute it may sound in german.

Oh well, there are many abrevations that not only stand for some evil guys nickname from the 80s. I did not know about that bind-torture-kill psycho guy when I was given the nickname back in 1995. It’s the abrevation of a historical persons name and is in no way connected to that Dennis Radar guy. Oh and I am dealing with people in the US everyday. There are – for my understanding – not many non-offensive nameing possibilities on this planet – I will offense at least some language-region… for example take the wonderful world of car names… there was the Mazda M2 – which sounds like “merde” in french – which in english means “shit”…
