Do you know how the locking mechanism works? (I’m having major trouble with a “protected card” error with my 8G Transcend)
The lock switch is not connected electrically at all, it just affects a corresponding mechanical switch inside the slot based on position. You can usually just put tape over the cutout where the switch resides, unless there is a problem with the switch in the slot, or the card itself.
it’s, it’s….just a microchip??? how can that be possible? just the strip and a microchip…wierd
It’s 2 microchips. the one that looks roundish and square must be some sort of processor/controller. the big square chip is probably the actual memory.
