Grundprinzip

Kikudana ist ein Client für einen vom Nutzer ausgewählten Audiobookshelf-Server. Kikudana betreibt keinen eigenen Audiobookshelf-Dienst und stellt keine Medieninhalte bereit.

Bibliotheksdaten, Medien und Zugangsdaten werden nicht an einen Server des App-Anbieters übertragen. Kikudana enthält keine Werbung, keine Drittanbieter-Analytics und kein anbieterbetriebenes Tracking.

Apple kann im Zusammenhang mit dem Betriebssystem, dem App Store, StoreKit, iCloud und optional benötigten Systemmodellen Daten nach den Datenschutzbestimmungen von Apple verarbeiten.

Verbindung zum Audiobookshelf-Server

Zur Anmeldung und Nutzung verarbeitet Kikudana insbesondere:

• die Adresse des ausgewählten Servers,
• Benutzername und Authentifizierungsdaten,
• optionale benutzerdefinierte HTTP-Header,
• Bibliotheks-, Podcast- und Episodeninformationen,
• Hörfortschritt und Wiedergabesitzungen,
• Cover, Audiodateien und weitere vom Server gelieferte Medien.

Die Kommunikation erfolgt direkt zwischen dem Gerät und dem vom Nutzer angegebenen Audiobookshelf-Server. Für die Verarbeitung und Speicherung auf diesem Server ist dessen Betreiber verantwortlich.

HTTPS wird empfohlen. Wenn der Nutzer ausdrücklich eine unverschlüsselte HTTP-Verbindung erlaubt, ist die Übertragung nicht transportverschlüsselt.

Lokale Speicherung und Schlüsselbund

Kontoinformationen, Bibliothekscache, Suchindex, Einstellungen, Smart Lists, Warteschlange, Player-Status, Hörfortschritt, Downloads, Transkripte, Zusammenfassungen und lokale Analysedaten werden auf dem Gerät gespeichert.

Passwörter, Zugangstokens und sensible Headerwerte werden ausschließlich im Apple-Schlüsselbund gespeichert.

Kikudana überträgt Diagnoseprotokolle nicht automatisch an den App-Anbieter. Wenn der Nutzer einen Diagnoseexport erstellt und selbst weitergibt, erfolgt die Übermittlung über den vom Nutzer gewählten Kommunikationsweg. Der Export wird so gefiltert, dass insbesondere Zugangsdaten, Serveradressen, authentifizierte URLs, Medieninhalte, Transkripte und Zusammenfassungen nicht enthalten sind.

Transkription und Zusammenfassungen auf dem Gerät

Optionale Transkripte und KI-Zusammenfassungen werden mit von Apple bereitgestellten Systemfunktionen auf dem Gerät erstellt. Audio, Transkripte und Zusammenfassungen werden von Kikudana nicht an einen Cloud-KI-Dienst oder an den App-Anbieter übertragen.

Die erzeugten Inhalte bleiben auf dem Gerät und werden zusammen mit den zugehörigen lokalen Episodendaten gelöscht. Apple kann erforderliche Sprach- oder Systemmodelle als Bestandteil seiner Betriebssystemdienste bereitstellen.

Optionale iCloud-Synchronisierung

Wenn der Nutzer die Synchronisierung aktiviert, speichert Kikudana ausgewählte Konfigurationsdaten in der privaten Apple-CloudKit-Datenbank des Nutzers. Dazu können insbesondere Einstellungen, Smart Lists und deren Mitgliedschaften, ausgeblendete Podcasts, die aktive Bibliothek, zusammengefasste Hör- und Smart-Skip-Zeiten sowie Änderungs- und Löschmarken gehören.

Passwörter, Zugangstokens, sensible Headerwerte, authentifizierte URLs, Player-Status, Warteschlange, Downloads, Audiodateien, Transkripte und Zusammenfassungen werden nicht durch Kikudanas Konfigurationssynchronisierung in CloudKit gespeichert.

Die Synchronisierung kann in den erweiterten Einstellungen deaktiviert werden. Dort können die von Kikudana synchronisierten Konfigurationsdaten auch gelöscht werden.

Käufe und Abonnements

Käufe und Abonnements werden ausschließlich durch Apple über StoreKit abgewickelt. Kikudana erhält keine Kreditkarten-, Bank- oder sonstigen Zahlungsdaten.

Zur Prüfung und Freischaltung von Kikudana Pro verarbeitet die App insbesondere Produktkennung, Transaktions- und Originaltransaktionskennung, Kauf- und Ablaufdatum, Widerrufsstatus sowie gegebenenfalls den Family-Sharing-Status. Ein lokaler Berechtigungsnachweis speichert diese Angaben und den Zeitpunkt der letzten Prüfung.

Informationsseite und Support

Beim Aufruf dieser Webseite werden technisch erforderliche Verbindungsdaten verarbeitet. Dazu können IP-Adresse, Zeitpunkt, aufgerufene Adresse, übertragene Datenmenge, Statuscode, Referrer und Browserkennung gehören. Die Verarbeitung dient der sicheren und zuverlässigen Bereitstellung der Webseite.

Auf der Kikudana-Datenschutzseite werden keine Werbe- oder Analysedienste eingesetzt. Die tatsächliche Speicherung von Serverprotokollen und ihre Löschfristen richten sich nach der eingesetzten Hosting-Konfiguration.

Bei einer Kontaktaufnahme per E-Mail oder Telefon werden die mitgeteilten Kontakt- und Inhaltsdaten verarbeitet, soweit dies zur Bearbeitung der Anfrage erforderlich ist.

Empfänger

Empfänger personenbezogener Daten können sein:

• der Betreiber des vom Nutzer ausgewählten Audiobookshelf-Servers,
• Apple für App Store, StoreKit, iCloud und Betriebssystemdienste,
• die für Webseite und E-Mail eingesetzten technischen Dienstleister,
• weitere Empfänger, soweit eine gesetzliche Verpflichtung besteht.

Eine darüber hinausgehende Weitergabe durch Kikudana findet nicht statt.

Speicherdauer und Löschung

Lokale App-Daten bleiben bestehen, bis sie über die jeweilige Funktion, durch Entfernen des Kontos oder durch Löschen der App entfernt werden. Da iOS Einträge im Schlüsselbund auch nach einer Deinstallation erhalten kann, sollten Konten nach Möglichkeit zuerst innerhalb der App entfernt werden.

In iCloud gespeicherte Konfigurationsdaten bleiben bestehen, bis sie in Kikudana oder über Apples iCloud-Verwaltung gelöscht werden.

Supportkommunikation und technisch notwendige Serverdaten werden gelöscht, wenn der Verarbeitungszweck entfallen ist und keine gesetzlichen Aufbewahrungs- oder Nachweispflichten bestehen.

Apple und der Betreiber des ausgewählten Audiobookshelf-Servers bestimmen ihre jeweiligen Speicherfristen selbst.

Rechte betroffener Personen

Betroffene Personen haben im gesetzlichen Umfang Rechte auf Auskunft, Berichtigung, Löschung, Einschränkung der Verarbeitung, Datenübertragbarkeit und Widerspruch. Eine erteilte Einwilligung kann mit Wirkung für die Zukunft widerrufen werden.

Zur Ausübung dieser Rechte genügt eine Nachricht an kikudanaprivacy.ecom@schrankmonster.de. Vor einer Auskunft kann ein geeigneter Identitätsnachweis erforderlich sein.

Data privacy policy for Kikudana (english)

Basic Principle

Kikudana is a client for an Audiobookshelf server selected by the user. Kikudana does not operate its own Audiobookshelf service and does not provide any media content.

Library data, media, and login credentials are not transmitted to a server operated by the app provider. Kikudana contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no provider-operated tracking.

Apple may process data in connection with the operating system, the App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, and any optionally required system models in accordance with Apple’s privacy policy.

Connection to the Audiobookshelf Server

For login and use, Kikudana processes in particular:

• the address of the selected server,
• username and authentication credentials,
• optional custom HTTP headers,
• library, podcast, and episode information,
• listening progress and playback sessions,
• cover artwork, audio files, and other media provided by the server.

Communication takes place directly between the device and the Audiobookshelf server specified by the user. The operator of that server is responsible for processing and storing data on the server.

HTTPS is recommended. If the user explicitly allows an unencrypted HTTP connection, the transmission is not encrypted in transit.

Local Storage and Keychain

Account information, library cache, search index, settings, Smart Lists, queue, player state, listening progress, downloads, transcripts, summaries, and local analytics data are stored on the device.

Passwords, access tokens, and sensitive header values are stored exclusively in the Apple Keychain.

Kikudana does not automatically transmit diagnostic logs to the app provider. If the user creates a diagnostic export and shares it themselves, it is transmitted via the communication method selected by the user. The export is filtered so that, in particular, login credentials, server addresses, authenticated URLs, media content, transcripts, and summaries are not included.

On-Device Transcription and Summaries

Optional transcripts and AI-generated summaries are created on the device using system features provided by Apple. Kikudana does not transmit audio, transcripts, or summaries to a cloud-based AI service or to the app provider.

The generated content remains on the device and is deleted together with the associated local episode data. Apple may provide required language or system models as part of its operating system services.

Optional iCloud Synchronization

If the user enables synchronization, Kikudana stores selected configuration data in the user’s private Apple CloudKit database. This may include, in particular, settings, Smart Lists and their memberships, hidden podcasts, the active library, aggregated listening and Smart Skip times, as well as modification and deletion markers.

Passwords, access tokens, sensitive header values, authenticated URLs, player state, queue, downloads, audio files, transcripts, and summaries are not stored in CloudKit through Kikudana’s configuration synchronization.

Synchronization can be disabled in the advanced settings. The configuration data synchronized by Kikudana can also be deleted there.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Purchases and subscriptions are handled exclusively by Apple through StoreKit. Kikudana does not receive any credit card, bank, or other payment information.

To verify and enable Kikudana Pro, the app processes, in particular, the product identifier, transaction and original transaction identifiers, purchase and expiration dates, revocation status, and, where applicable, Family Sharing status. A local entitlement record stores this information and the time of the most recent verification.

Information Website and Support

When this website is accessed, technically necessary connection data is processed. This may include the IP address, time of access, requested address, amount of data transferred, status code, referrer, and browser identifier. This processing serves to provide the website securely and reliably.

No advertising or analytics services are used on the Kikudana privacy page. The actual storage of server logs and their deletion periods depend on the hosting configuration used.

When contacting us by email or telephone, the contact information and message content provided are processed to the extent necessary to handle the inquiry.

Recipients

Recipients of personal data may include:

• the operator of the Audiobookshelf server selected by the user,
• Apple for the App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, and operating system services,
• technical service providers used for the website and email,
• other recipients where required by law.

Kikudana does not disclose data to any other parties beyond this.

Retention Period and Deletion

Local app data remains stored until it is removed using the relevant function, by removing the account, or by deleting the app. Because iOS may retain Keychain entries even after an app is uninstalled, accounts should, where possible, first be removed from within the app.

Configuration data stored in iCloud remains there until it is deleted in Kikudana or through Apple’s iCloud management tools.

Support communications and technically necessary server data are deleted when the purpose for processing no longer applies and there are no statutory retention or documentation obligations.

Apple and the operator of the selected Audiobookshelf server determine their respective retention periods independently.

Rights of Data Subjects

To the extent provided by law, data subjects have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. Any consent given may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.

To exercise these rights, it is sufficient to send a message to kikudanaprivacy.ecom@schrankmonster.de. Appropriate proof of identity may be required before providing access to personal data.

Data subjects also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In particular, the competent authority is:
